Welcome to my brand new Blog!

Aloha and Welcome to my new Blog. I have had some incredible experiences photographing over the past few years and I needed a new blog to showcase all of my new images. I have been in Hawaii now for the past 4 years after living in Montana, Washington, and New Mexico. In addition to photography, my passion is to travel. I love to photograph different places, people, and cultures and hopefully I will be sharing all of my upcoming adventures right here.

I have had the pleasure of working with some amazing clients and vendors over the past few years, and I will always give a shout out to them as well.

Jamie & Keith

Jamie and Keith were married at the Hale Koa Hotel a couple of weeks ago. They were such a great couple to work with, thanks Jamie and Keith for the great day and I can’t wait for the upcoming trash the dress shoot.

As a wedding gift, Jamie gave Keith a pair of Jordans that had his initials and the wedding date embroidered on them. Great way to remember the anniversary!

Sheri & Ben

Sheri and Ben were married at the Haiku Mill on Maui, which I have been dying to shoot at for a while now. The site is amazing and one of my favorite locations of all time. It has such a unique feel to it, from the whitewashed bridal suite to the vine covered stone walls.

The next day we did a little Trash the Dress shoot in the pineapple fields. There are so many beautiful locations around the island, that we had to take advantage.

Introducing….The Boudoir Session

I recently had a boudoir session with these gorgeous ladies. We had such a fun time shooting and everyone had a chance to be model and art director. We ended up making a book of the images as a gift to their future husbands. Here are a few of my favorite images.

Christine & Jay, Maui

Christine and Jay were an amazing couple to photograph. They both have such open and welcoming personalities that by the end of the night I felt like family. Thank you so much for including me in your wedding day, it was so much fun to be a part of. This was my first trip to the Sugarman Estate on Maui and it is a gorgeous location, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a very private outdoor location. And thanks to the design talents of Evonne Wong, with Events by Evonne it was a spectacular day.

Britta & Kevin

Britta and Kevin had one of the most memorable weddings I can remember. Unfortunately one of the reasons was because three days before the wedding Britta broke her kneecap. That’s right, broke her kneecap. I’m sure this is one of those things that brides have nightmares and panic attacks about. She was in a huge leg brace and had to be on crutches part of the day, but didn’t let it ruin the celebration. Incredibly, despite the pain she must have been in, she was one of the most beautiful and sweet brides that I have worked with.
Britta is one of those brides that make you realize that the important thing about the day is the sentiment and the feeling of it all. She had such an amazing attitude and did not once complain about anything, that I think she deserves the Bride of the Year Award, if there is one. With wedding coordination from Blue Sky Productions and Yvonne Floral’s creative designs, the entire event was stylish and beautiful, down to the last detail.

Linsi & Peter Trash the Dress

This post has been in the works for a while, but I am finally posting it. After all it is wedding season!
And for all of you who are thinking about doing a Trash the Dress session…I totally recommend it. They are so much fun and the images are very different than the ones that you can get on the wedding day. I had a great time working with Linsi and Peter and as you can see they are supermodel material.

The Knot – Best Wedding!

The Knot just held it’s Real Wedding Awards and I am proud to announce that one of my weddings won BEST WEDDING!

The voting was a combination of brides and editors of the magazine, so it is even more exciting. I am so happy for Karen and Sherwin who are such a fantastic couple. All of their hard work and planning really paid off for them. And you will see some of the images in the upcoming fall/autumn issue of the Knot.

Cheryl & Roger

I’ve said it once, and I”ll say it again, I love Canadians. Growing up in Montana, they were always my neighbors (although the country is huge and they live nowhere near Montana). Cheryl and Roger were no exception, they were so much fun to work with and they have an amazing relationship. They were married in an intimate ceremony on Kawela Bay on the North Shore a couple of weeks ago with their closest family. They chose the perfect secluded spot, and after we found out it was on private property we had to pull out the beaches in Hawaii cannot be private argument. But they took it in stride and had a beautiful ceremony. After the ceremony we were able to do some really fun portraits further down the beach and with the gorgeous banyan trees. Here are some of my favorites.

Irene & Joe

Before stepping foot on the property I knew that this wedding would be gorgeous. Irene and Joe had some amazing vendors working with them and everything turned out beautifully. With Aubrey Akana from Savoir Faire Hawaii coordinating the event, they were in very good hands. And I love how Aubrey always works in some green ideas for her weddings, look for the Blumeboxes below to see what I mean.

My favorite thing about this wedding was all the vibrant colors, and even Irene’s dress was a pale shade of pink. The Kahulu’u Fish Ponds were the perfect location for this type of intimate outdoor event. I am always impressed when a destination bride can make you look at Hawaii in a little bit different light. It makes me really appreciate her creativity and all of the planning of little details. Irene and Joe’s wedding was even featured on Style me Pretty, one of my favorite wedding blogs.

Possibly the cutest flower girl on the planet.

Here are some of the details created by the extremely talented Michelle of Flower Girls Hawaii. I love everything she makes, especially the feathers in the bouquet.
And the Blumeboxes are completly recyclable and so cute. So all of you brides out there looking for some green wedding ideas, here you go.

And one of my favorite vendors, CakeLava made this gorgeous custom cake for Irene and Joe. From what I hear, it tasted even better than it looked.

Linsi & Peter

Linsi and Peter were married at a private estate in Kahala. They are the type of couple that is so much fun to shoot, they are loving, affectionate, and did I mention gorgeous. In fact one of my favorite bride quotes of all time came from Linsi. She was posing like a supermodel for the camera, when I asked her if she had been practicing. Her response was “Only my whole life!”

Their wedding day was amazing, from the weather to the location and light. They might just be the happiest couple I have ever photographed. Their friends and family radiated from seeing their genuine smiles all day long, and it is obvious to everyone that they are meant to be together.

I also had a chance to to a Trash the Dress with them last week, so stay tuned for some more of their beautiful pictures.
