Rachel Robertson Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Aloha and Welcome to my new Blog. I have had some incredible experiences photographing over the past few years and I needed a new blog to showcase all of my new images. I have been in Hawaii now for the past 5 years after living in Montana, Washington, and New Mexico. In addition to photography, my passion is to travel. I love to photograph different places, people, and cultures and hopefully I will be sharing all of my upcoming adventures right here.

I have had the pleasure of working with some amazing clients and vendors over the past few years, and I will always give a shout out to them as well.

Sneak Peek- Krystle’s surprise proposal

Congratulations to Krystle and Scott who were engaged yesterday! Here is a little sneak peek from the session.

She has no idea what is about to happen…

Krystal & Tony

This was one of my favorite weddings so far this year; complete with an amazing couple, gorgeous location, and incredible light. Krystal and Tony were married at Sunset Ranch on the north shore, and this was my first wedding there. The weather was a little unpredictable and rainy early in the day, but turned out to be near perfect.

Thanks to Gina and Leigh for the fantastic coordination and design of this wedding. All of the details were perfect and I love the vintage feel of this wedding.

Wedding Coordination: D’Lish
Videography: 10th Letter Media
Cake: Tiers of Joy

They almost had to change the location of the ceremony, and I am so happy that the weather cleared…how gorgeous is this spot?

A little bit of rain during the ceremony…

I have to admit, I was a little obsessed with the barn.

Little bit of rain + a white dress = a whole lot of mud

I love this image, Krystal is the most beautiful bride.

Love this light.

I could not resist:)

We had the most amazing light in the evening

Kristi & Mike

I have been lucky enough to have met this amazing group of friends a few years back at a wedding that I photographed. From then on out, I was hooked, and they sort of adopted me as their photographer. This was the 4th wedding of the same group of friends that I photographed. They are some of the most fun and crazy weddings that I have ever been to and Kristi and Mike were no exception.

Mike is the type of guy who is the life of the party and very outgoing. He is always making Kristi smile, and they are so happy together.

Kristi and Mike spend part of their time here in Hawaii and part of it in Alaska…which sounds pretty perfect to me. They wanted to have a fun and stylish tropical wedding to celebrate the Hawaii side of their lives. I love the style of this wedding, the design and coordination was done by the amazing Christina of Pacific Aisles and the flowers are the work of the very talented Michelle from Flower girls Hawaii

Kristi is a stunning bride.

So handsome…and Krsiti’s mom sewed in this little detail on the back of his tie.

The wedding took place at the Loulu Palm estate on the north shore.

Love the lighting in this picture.

Love, Love, Love this group!

They are just so cute together.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of this day, I can’t wait until the next wedding!

Chandra & Danny

Chandra and Danny met a few years ago at work. And although they felt an instant connection, they settled for a friendship. After being separated when Danny left for another job, they reconnected and realized they had everything they needed in each other.

Chandra and Danny are one of the sweetest couples that I have ever worked with. And they just happen to be perfect for each other. Danny is hilarious and outgoing and Chandra is a little more on the sweet and reserved side, but together they shine.

They are adorable, sweet, and completely in love. They have an amazing relationship and it makes you want to be around them, and when you meet their families you see exactly where they got all that love and affection.

The amazing Kathe Garcia was on hand to take care of all of the details and make sure the had an amazing day.

There were a lot of happy tears throughout the day and not a dry eye in the church, including mine.

Chandra has dreamed of getting married in Central Union Church since she was a little girl.

They are just so stinking cute together.

Love her gorgeous veil.

Chandra performed a surprise hula for Danny, it was so sweet.

Chandra & Danny, Trash the Dress at the State Fair

This session with Chandra and Danny was so much fun. The State Fair was an amazing backdrop for a trash the dress session, with all of the rides and bright colors. Chandra and Danny are one of my favorite couple’s and this is why…

They were willing to do anything for some fun photos.

What would a state fair be without cotton candy?

Clearly Danny was the winner…

I love this series, we snuck into the tent and took some shots before a show. And Danny actually knows how to ride a unicycle, and we almost convinced them to let him ride it in the arena…maybe next time

So cute.

Melissa & Clint

Melissa and Clint met during her last month in Australia while she was studying abroad. They had an immediate connection, and she was able to attend some of the first comedy gigs of his career. She returned to the states to finish her degree and Clint continued developing his comedy career. They kept in touch over the years and always had a strong friendship and anticipation for the other. After many phone calls and a whole lot of distance, they decided to plan a trip to Peru and meet up as they both had always wanted to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. They met up for the first time in 5 years face to face and had the most amazing travel experience. While hiking the trail and going to the Amazon, they cemented their bond. And as they say, the rest is history.

I was honored to be a part of their wedding at Kualoa Ranch, they are an amazing couple. Thanks to Alicia from Milestone Events who made the day flawless. And the gorgeous flowers were created by Flower Farm.

Melissa is also a finalist for Bride to Be Magazine’s Bride of the Year. Bride to Be Magazine is Australia’s leading Wedding planning magazines for Brides. CLICK HERE TO VOTE FOR HER!

Alex and Critter

Alex and Critter were married at the Oceanfront Oasis in a beautiful ceremony. The two of them are so much fun to be around and all smiles throughout the day. Despite the threat of rain, the ceremony and reception were both perfect.

Alex and Critter…Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your day. From the moment I met you and your families I was thankful to know you. I hope that you have an amazing life together and I can’t wait to see what you accomplish together.

A big shout out to Karine at Seasons of Life for the flawless coordination, Terrie Easley Designs for the florals and Fisheye Studio for the videography (and the bowtie lessons).

I love this moment when Alex’s father saw her in her dress, so sweet.

Alex was so striking and Critter couldn’t keep his eyes off of her.

A few days later we met for a sunrise trash the dress session in Lanikai. The light was absolutely gorgeous and here are a few of my favorites from the session.

They were even brave enough to take a dip underwater…

Montana

It has been a while since I posted on the blog, and some of you may be wondering why. I spent the last month in Montana, visiting friends and family and playing in the mountains. It has been an amazing summer, thanks to all of my Montana peeps for making it so great. Here is a picture of the view from the top of Mt Reynolds.

Darlene & Ian Engagement

Darlene and Ian are getting married later this year, and we had an amazing engagement session at a gorgeous ranch near Dole Plantation. The light was incredible, especially since it had been pouring most of the day.

They are just so cute together!

Even the horses wanted to be in on the shoot.

Thanks so much for a really fun session, I can’t wait for the wedding in November!

I am so honored to be a finalist in the Pacific Weddings photo contest again for this issue. There are some beautiful photographs entered and I am so excited to be among them.
